Handmade Rugs

Handmade rugs / hand-knotted rugs are unique and full of character, they are often made by nomadic tribes in war-torn countries in difficult surroundings. Generally speaking handmade rugs are knotted by hand using a weaving loom and spun yarn, the yarn is typically wool. This type of rug is usually dense and heavy and will ooze quality and last a lifetime. Handmade rugs are normally woven using soft muted colours, modern dyes and techniques plus ever-changing interior fashions have inspired weaves to merge brighter sharper colours with subtle tones.
