Ziegler Hand Knotted
Ziegler rugs date back to around 1880, a Germany company based in England developed the concept of a hand knotted rug that would suit the European market which required subtle toned down colours and designs that would suit both contemporary and traditional décors. Ziegler rugs also spelt Zeiger were originally woven in Iran (Persia) most new rugs are now woven in Afghanistan, Pakistan and surrounding areas. Ziegler rugs are hand knotted from hand spun ghazni wool which is dyed using vegetable dyes, the rugs also undergo an abrasive process to tone down the shade. Ziegler's are extremely hard wearing and should last for many years, most will increase in value over time.
